Yoga Nidra is a Sanskrit term meaning "yogic sleep“, and is a deep relaxation technique and a form of meditation.
The practicioner comes to rest on the floor and follows a set of instructions; much like a guided meditation. Performing Yoga Nidra involves practicing pratyahara ("withdrawal of the senses“).
Yoga Nidra practice results in deep relaxation and expands the individual's self-awareness. Healing can be achieved, during this deep relaxation. A heart wish/aim „sankalpa“ in life is repeated at the beginning and end of the session. This suggestion goes very deep, and can lead to overcoming an unwanted habit. Relaxation takes place on the physical, mental and emotional level, leading to a feeling of contentment and wholeness.
The class begins with gentle asanas/physical exersises and pranayama/breathing exercises to prepare the body and mind for Yoga Nidra. Releasing old tensions and creating space for new positive experiences
